“In my opinion, The Crafty Cow's proximity to Southmead Hospital makes it a practical choice for some, but be aware that some rooms could use an update. The garden, popular and well-lit, stands out as a definite plus. I think the value aligns best for those prioritizing location over flawlessly maintained interiors.”

Review summary

The Crafty Cow provides comfortable accommodations near the hospital, and it's conveniently located a short bus ride away from the city centre; plus, the football ground is within walking distance. Guests often appreciate the clean rooms equipped with a TV, kettle, and USB points. Many have raved about the food, particularly the roast with belly pork and superb gravy, while residents also enjoy a 10% discount on food and drinks; some guests, however, have found the WiFi to be slow. With a large beer garden including a covered area, it's a great place for smokers to relax.

mixed experience with some disappointments

broken lightcold room
The electric radiator in the room did not work, so it was very cold. i had to wear my coat while working in the room one morning. also, the light next to the bed was broken and seemed unsafe. It kept flickering and was loose. the entrance to the rooms, located behind the bar, led to a run-down area, it felt uninviting.

the staff i met was lovely. graham really helped me find a hairdryer. residents also get 10% off all food and drink purchased there. the beer garden was large and had a great covered area. i liked that residents get discounts on food and drink.
the car park was full and i had to park on the road. the shower head was broken. this meant it could not be affixed up high. it was not convenient at all.
